Mend The Gap Presents: Perimart Marathon & Festival - September 2024
Join us in the heart of Kenya's Masai Mara for a once in a lifetime event!
Get ready for a one-of-a-kind experience in the breathtaking landscapes of the Masai Mara. The Perimart Marathon & Festival is organized by the charities Mend The Gap U.K. in collaboration with Perimart International Kenya. This is a flagship fundraising event for the two charities which other charities and individual participants can also enjoy. It is more than just a series of charity events—it's an opportunity to make a lasting impact while enjoying an unforgettable adventure with family and friends of all abilities. Non-competitive buffet events include 1K, 5K and 10K walks and runs, half and full marathon as well as 50K and 100K bike rides - all topped up with community volunteeering and the cultural and music festival.
The Marathon - What to Expect:
- Family-Friendly Charity Fundraising Events: This buffet-style series of events is designed for participants of all ages and fitness levels. Whether you're walking or running 1K, 5K or 10K; running the half or full Marathon; or cycling 50K or 100K, there's something for everyone to enjoy. You could go on safari game drive, play active games and sport with locals, chill out or go on guided nature walks in the wild, or volunteer and support our local Masai or Kisii community projects.
- Non-Competitive Spirit: Leave your stopwatch at home! There are no prizes or medals to be won! The Perimart Marathon & Festival is not about setting records—it's about ordinary folks coming together for a common cause and having fun along the way. Enjoy the scenic routes and festive atmosphere without the pressure of competition.
- Supporting Charitable Projects: You will have the choice to raise funds in aid of the charitable initiatives of Mend The Gap and Perimart International directly. You can additionally volunteer for our local projects. By participating, you're helping to make a positive difference in the lives of those in need in Masai Mara or Kisii.
- Fun Glamping: Come with and pitch your own tent, sleeping bag and mat, and participate in our fun events. The village has an electric fence, and several amenities including airy breakout and dining buildings, external toilets and bathrooms, and large airy pubs and restaurants. Your glamping costs are inclusive of breakfast, lunch and dinner comprising of simple, wholesome and largely organic home-cooked food with fresh ingredients ethically sourced from around the village daily.

Ticket Prices
- Marathon Tickets: Ticket prices start from £50 for Mend The Gap and Perimart International fundraisers and go through to £500 for other charities to buy places for their fundraisers and for those participating but not fundraising for any charity.
- Festival Tickets: These tickets are £100 for everybody. Those attending only the festival are welcome fundraise for Mend The Gap and Perimart International.
